- Annual robotic volume: Centres performing fewer than 30–50 robotic cases per year show higher complication rates. Ask for the surgeon's personal case log, not the hospital's combined volume.
- Subspecialty credentialling: Robotic HPB (liver, pancreas, bile duct) requires additional fellowship training beyond general Da Vinci certification. Robotic gynecologic surgery requires specific OBG robotic training. Ask whether the surgeon holds procedure-specific credentials.
- NABH / JCI accreditation: National Accreditation Board for Hospitals (NABH) accreditation is the Indian standard; JCI accreditation is the international benchmark. Both indicate structured quality management systems.
